 Mason was a pro right away but Madelyn caught on

real fast.

 We made homemade ice cream for cousin Hudson's sixth birthday party. Madelyn loves it!

May Fruitport Old Fashioned Days

Mason helping grandpa build a full size bed for his bedroom. 

The twin bed built last winter on top of the full size bed we built this spring. All the horizontal

pieces are cherry wood and the vertical pieces are walnut.

Madelyn and grandma have a picnic in the back yard.

 We took Mason and Madelyn to the Fruitport Old Fashioned Days carnival. Madelyn

enjoyed riding the ponies!

 Once Madelyn had some carrots the goats were her best friends!

 Madelyn did lots of kiddie rides.

 Madelyn and Riley did a lot of the rides together.

 For her first experience she really liked the rides.

 Baby girl has this all down pat.

Mason does the bungee assisted trampoline jumping

and really got up high.

March 2016

Just to remind us that winter is not over yet despite

having had 60 degree weather, we got 7 inches of real

wet snow in early March. It rolled so well we had made

four big balls instead of three, so the top one was a hat.

Mason found sticks for arms and rocks for the face.

Pulled the kids around and around and around the yard

in their snow saucers.

The boy leaves a trail from the bus to the house.......

Mason is a good tree climber now.

 We made our annual trip to Family Farm to see the

baby chicks and ducks.

Baby girl was thrilled and asked grandma to go back every day for

the rest of the week.

 Grandma and Grandpa took Madelyn to the River Crossings Mall to ride the carousel and

little car rides. She liked the carousel for about 2 minutes and then wanted off.

 Mae loves her "Achoos" -  characters from the Frozen movie.

Madelyn lets one of grandma's planter statues hold her plug while she talks to her.

 We had Easter at grandma and grandpa's house. It is

tradition for Daravia to hide the eggs for Mason and

Madelyn and one has to be hidden under the

neighbor's chicken that is between the two yards.

 Madelyn found all sorts of goodies in the plastic eggs. She opened the

eggs and pitched the plastic and put the stuff in her basket.

 There's one in every crowd. Mason clowned around

with Daravia's bunny ears and Madelyn's Mickey gloves.

He started out just making his sister laugh, but had a

big audience after awhile.

 What a performance!

Now maybe the ears are a beard???

Easter Sunday was a nice day for a change this year and we enjoyed the time outside.

 



Grand Rapids Children's Museum February 18th

 Mason's kindergarten class traveled to the GR Children's Museum in

February. Grandma and Grandpa took Madelyn, too. Here Mason lifts

a big ring out of a soap solution that produces a big bubble around the kids.

 There were smaller open tanks of bubble solution and big rings. Mason

got pretty good at it!

 Mason would find the Legos, of course.

 The big beam in the center was magnetized. Mason built all sorts

of creations as all the steel stuck together.

 Arranging different types of media on a light table.

 The teeth were for brushing, but Mason clowns with them.

 Madelyn drops balls down a slope and rigs the different

bells. The golf balls worked best.

 They had many different vehicles for the kids to

drive.

 Madelyn brushes the teeth on a dentist's office patient.

 A jungle hat and drums.

 Playing a set of large bolts. They also had wrenches.

 Crawling through a triangular prism makes for a

kaleidoscope-type image for Madelyn.

 Creative station with glue, scissors, cards, fabric,

styrofoam, etc.

 A real bee hive and magnifying glass to see the bees

up close.

 Julie brought silicon muffin cups that looked fun

to play with.
