October 25th Pumpkin Mud and Leaves

80 degrees and it's almost November.  A really warm day outside in Muskegon.
Mason is barefoot and playing in the dirt with Lightning McQueen

"Helping" grandma and grandpa with the oak leaves.

Up close and personal running around the yard.

"Lost-A-Body" Grave Digger visited grandma and grandpa.
Mason says "I like it this way" so grandpa did not fix it.

Grandma got a little jig-saw type cutter and
grandpa helped Mason cut out the top.

The top comes off!!!!

We called it "pumpkin mud" and Mason got right into the spirit
of pulling it out of the pumpkin.

He had to reach in real deep.

OK, after the eyes and mouth he wants to do the ears by himself.

Is there any more pumpkin mud????

Look at the concentration.

Looks like a lumberjack with a chainsaw.

Finished.

Grandma has little lights to put in them.

October 22nd Golf at Fruitport

We push our tee in the ground and put the ball on top.

Then we take a swing or two at it with our little sawed-off 3-wood.
He even got it up in the air once today.

When we get to the green Mason puts his ball down
less than a foot from the pin.

Grandpa helps with a putting lesson this time.

The ball goes in the cup!

Got it!

Grandma is chauffeur and caddy
(and keeper of the Ritz crackers and juice box).

The golfers pose on the 18th green.
Look what we found on the way home - a Halloween
monster truck made of straw bales.  Mason liked the tires........

October 17th More Park Stuff

More climbing at the Allendale Park - of course we need to climb with
a truck in hand.........

Posing for grandpa

Deciding what to do next

Big steps - just before he fell across the bars

Mason likes to climb up on the big rock - it's a good challenge for him

On the grandpa-powered Merry-Go-Round with other kids

October 14th Visit to Allendale Park

We had a few hours of sun one mid-October afternoon after a heavy rain
and the big sand area at the Allendale Park was great in which to turn
"doughnuts" and make tracks.

A dream come true - puddles to run the monster trucks in under the swings.

"Grave Digger" is getting in pretty deep........

Oh no!  He tipped over.

Mason is a climber now.  He scared grandpa by climbing up on this
big ladder almost by himself.

Hand Painting with Grandma in October

Grandma Carol let Mason hand paint out of a pie container
containing copious amounts of different colored paints.  He quickly
progressed to body painting starting with the nose.

Ta da!!!  The master artist - maybe more like frog-boy.  When he got
paint on grandma and the carpet the painting was done.....

Riding Combine at Wastewater in September

Mason and grandpa went to the 5,000 acre Wastewater Farm at the end of September
and rode one of the farm combines while it was harvesting soybeans.  We rode with
Operator Steve Robinson for about an hour

Wedding in Chicago in September

The Armstrongs traveled with the grandparent Kendricks to Chicago
to Grandma Carol's niece Lindsay's wedding.  Colleen flew up
with Hudson so we had the two-year-olds together again.  Here they
play in the window at the motel.

Mason "cheesing it" for grandpa's camera

Gotta be up to some sort of mischief... They indeed sneak into the
connecting room next door and lock themselves in.  As the pass
keys were not working well there was a period of time when
we could not get in.  When the worried parents and grandparents
finally gained entry, they were found jumping on the beds.

With Aunt Colleen and Hudson

At the Cheesecake Factory in Chicago.  Mason brought his new truck
called Colossus that picks up little cars automatically and loads them
into the dump box

 Cheesing with mommy

At the outdoor wedding with Hudson

Grandma Carol's family (Weinberg) with the bride and groom

Doing a puzzle with dad at the wedding reception

Drinking out of a big glass now...

Playing with the little cars that came with Colossus

Water Balloons in September

Mason played water baloons with Grandma Carol in September
and it was a hit!

Here is the show-off

Grandma ties one just in time.....

 Two to swing and throw

 Let it go high!
